KEY WEST, Oct. 30, 2026 — The National Weather Service in Key West has issued a coastal flood warning for the Upper, Middle and Lower Keys that runs until 11 p.m. Friday.
The warning calls for "Major saltwater flooding" this evening. "Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion will occur," it says.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management warned Friday that "saltwater can cause serious vehicle damage," and told drivers: "NEVER drive around barricades or through flooded roads" and "Do NOT attempt to start or drive a vehicle exposed to saltwater."
