MIAMI, Oct. 31, 2026 — The National Weather Service in Miami expects "Moderate coastal flooding" during high tides along the Palm Beach County and Broward County coasts, with "large breaking waves around 5 to 8 feet," it said in a coastal hazard message issued at 3:35 a.m. Saturday.

  • Coastal flood advisory: coastal Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties, until 7 p.m. Sunday.
  • High surf advisory: coastal Palm Beach and Broward, 2 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Monday.
  • High rip current risk: all three coastal counties, through Monday morning.

Expect "Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures," the agency says. "Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water."

The Weather Service advises inexperienced swimmers to stay out of the water and to swim near a lifeguard. If you're caught in a rip current, it says, "relax and float. Don't swim against the current."
