TALLAHASSEE, Oct. 30, 2026 — "As coastal flooding continues along FL's East Coast & the FL Keys, remember that saltwater can cause serious vehicle damage," the Florida Division of Emergency Management posted Friday. "Flood risk goes beyond the road & doesn't stop when the water recedes."

National Weather Service alerts active Friday afternoon (from api.weather.gov) include:

  • Coastal flood warnings for coastal Duval County and the St. Johns River basin until 5 a.m. Saturday ("significant coastal flooding"), and for the Florida Keys until 11 p.m. Friday ("Major saltwater flooding").
  • Coastal flood advisories for coastal Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties until 8 p.m. Saturday ("moderate coastal flooding"), and for St. Lucie and Martin counties until 8 p.m. Saturday.
  • Rip current statements along the Atlantic coast and Panhandle beaches into Sunday and beyond. "Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water," the Weather Service says.
