TALLAHASSEE, FL, Oct. 28, 2026 —

Federal Public Assistance has been approved for 15 Florida counties hit by Hurricane Isaias, the Florida Division of Emergency Management said Wednesday.

"Public Assistance (PA) is approved for 15 counties impacted by Hurricane #Isaias," the division posted (@FLSERT).

Which counties

According to the division's Hurricane Isaias update page, Public Assistance has been approved for Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Wakulla, Walton and Washington counties.

What it pays for, and what's still pending

The division says Public Assistance "helps eligible state & local governments & certain private nonprofits, including faith-based organizations, recover from disaster impacts." Its update page says it "supports emergency work & the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged public facilities."

It isn't money for individual households. "Approval for Individual Assistance & Hazard Mitigation Assistance remains under review," the division says. Individual Assistance is the program that helps "eligible individuals & households with disaster-related needs," according to the division's explainer post.

In its Oct. 16 request, the state asked for Individual Assistance for residents of Bay, Escambia, Gulf, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton and Washington counties, according to the governor's office.
