Why go
St. Johns River Park, also called Friendship Park, is at 1015 Museum Circle on the Southbank, just west of Main Street, according to the City of Jacksonville. When the park opened in 1965, the Fountain of Friendship was the world's largest and tallest fountain, spraying 17,000 gallons of water a minute up to 120 feet, per the city. The fountain flows from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with shows at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. nightly. A new playground opened in April 2025, and the park connects to the Southbank Riverwalk.
