WEST PALM BEACH, FL, Nov. 1, 2026 — The National Weather Service in Miami issued a flash flood warning for northeastern Palm Beach County at 5:23 p.m. Sunday, in effect until 7:15 p.m., after Doppler radar and automated rain gauges showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain.
"Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen," the warning says, with rain falling at 1.5 to 2 inches an hour and 1 to 2 more inches possible. "Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly."
The warning lists West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, North Palm Beach, Lake Park, Haverhill, Mangonia Park and the area around President Donald J. Trump International Airport, among other neighborhoods.
At 6 p.m., NWS Miami posted on X that areas "between I-95 and the Turnpike north of Palm Beach Lakes Blvd have an estimated 4-5\" of rain in the last hour. Flash flooding is likely occurring in these areas!"
A separate flood advisory for northeastern Palm Beach County, in effect until 6:45 p.m., says 3 to 4 inches had fallen by 5:34 p.m. and lists West Palm Beach, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, Royal Palm Beach, The Acreage and Loxahatchee Groves.
Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties remain under a flood watch "Through Monday afternoon," the Weather Service says. Launchpad's earlier story has the full list of flood watches across South and Central Florida.
"Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles," the warning says. Warnings can be extended or canceled; check weather.gov/mfl for the latest.
If you don't have to drive tonight, the safest choice is to stay off the roads.
