State · Election Florida Election Results: Donalds Wins Governor, Moody Keeps Senate Seat, Republicans Sweep the Cabinet
AP projects Byron Donalds won the governor's race 50.0% to 48.7%, and Sen. Ashley Moody beat Angie Nixon 50.9% to 48.0%. Republicans also won attorney general, CFO and agriculture commissioner by about 2 points each, and Justice Carlos Muñiz was retained with 57.7%. Results are unofficial until the state certifies them Nov. 16.

State · Money · Election Amendment 3 Property Tax Cut Passes With 62%; Amendments 1 and 2 Fall Short
Voters approved Amendment 3, raising the homestead exemption for non-school property taxes to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028. Amendment 2's farm tax break got 58.2%, short of the 60% needed, and Amendment 1's bigger rainy-day fund got 40.9%. Here's what changes and who opposed it.

AP hasn't called Districts 7, 9, 13, 26 and 27, where fewer than 2,600 votes separate the top two. Democrats won seven Florida seats, and Republicans have won or lead in 20 of 28. Two races are near the half-point recount line.

AP's tally at 7:53 a.m. shows Democrats with 228 House seats and 54 Senate seats, past the 218 and 51 needed for majorities. Democrats flipped Senate seats in seven states, including Kansas, Texas and Maine, AP reported. The new Congress is sworn in Jan. 3.

World Spain's Transport Minister Resigns Over the Urda High-Speed Train Crash That Killed 69
Óscar Puente stepped down Tuesday and dropped out of Spain's Nov. 29 election after a safety-system failure led to last week's crash. He announced a €30 million aid package and new checks for rail control centers. Rail unions have called strikes for Nov. 10 and 12.

Ukraine's emergency service says 37 people are dead and dozens are missing after Russian bombs hit a school where residents lined up for aid in Komyshuvakha. Russia says it hit military units; the UN's monitoring mission says the attack seems to have violated international humanitarian law. U.S.-brokered talks are set for Nov. 10-11.
